A DMP is a document that sets out how you will organize, store, back up, and share data at each stage of your project. The Tri-Agency RDM policy recommends, and in certain cases requires, a DMP to be submitted when applying for funding.

Sharing data in a repository accelerates new research findings by eliminating the need to duplicate work, and allows for the verification of research conclusions. The upcoming Tri-Agency RDM Policy will require projects funded by the Tri-Agency to deposit data into a recognized repository after the project's completion.
