 Research data management - National and Global Perspectives and an efficient way forward

Founder Mark Hahnel and Dan Valen from RDM software-as-a-service figshare will join Eugene Barsky, and colleagues from the UBC Library, UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC), UBC Office for Research Services and UBC IT for a strategic discussion on Research Data Management.

An introduction to Figshare for institutions and how its integrations with ORCID, Altmetric, Readcube (a literature database with data citations), and research information system Symplectic Elements and the Dimensions grants API, can help showcase and measure the full impact of UBC’s diverse research in a dynamic, user-friendly fashion.
How figshare’s unique open APIs ingest and flow data, metadata and unique utilities into other institutional systems in a symbiotic and complementary fashion 
Helping an institution get control of its data with content aggregation from 3rd party platforms
Organization, description, and reuse: how figshare is doing innovative work in custom metadata schemas to fuel re-use while helping institutions with preservation
Case studies from across North America, Europe and Oceania on how institutions are developing RDM workflows for different (and often surprising) applications.
