UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is excited to share a new external funding opportunity for PhD students:
NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship Program
The NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship Program offers up to $60,000 USD per award to PhD students conducting research that advances accelerated computing and its applications. Proposals are especially encouraged in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and other related fields. In addition to funding, selected fellows gain access to NVIDIA products, technologies, and collaboration opportunities with leading experts in the industry. The Fellowship includes a mandatory in-person summer internship prior to the Fellowship year.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of at least one year of PhD-level studies at the time of application.
- Enrollment in a major such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Active engagement in research as part of the PhD thesis.
- Full-time enrollment during the 2026–2027 academic year (minimum 9 months), with graduation expected no earlier than May/June 2027.
- Availability for an in-person summer internship at one of NVIDIA’s research offices located in the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, or Taiwan.
- No immediate family relationship with a current NVIDIA employee.
- Fellowship funds must be administered through the student’s university; payments will be made to the institution, not directly to the student.
