The Digital Research Alliance of Canada’s annual Resource Allocation Competition (RAC) opens on September 23, 2026. This competition provides researchers with an opportunity to apply for compute, storage, and cloud resources beyond those available through the Rapid Access Service (RAS).

Application Window: September 23 to November 3, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EST)
Allocation Results Announced: Late March 2027
Start of Allocations: Early April 2027
RAC Supports Storage, Compute, and Cloud Resources
While RAC is often associated with advanced compute resources, researchers can apply for storage, compute, and cloud resources, or any combination of the three. Storage-only and cloud-only applications are eligible.
Researchers with growing storage requirements, or those interested in hosting research websites, portals, applications, or other cloud-based services, may find RAC a valuable option.
