Have you ever thought about music as data? We invite you to come and hear a digital humanist discussing his experiences working with musical scores as digital texts that can be used for "distant reading".
Craig Sapp will introduce several databases of digital scores that he has helped develop with user-friendly web interfaces and designed to be used as research tools for Renaissance-era music scholars, as well as examples of data visualizations and other tools for music analysis he has developed over the years. Please remember to bring your coffee mugs.
