Compute Canada RAC 2019 Opens Sept. 27th

September 24, 2018

Compute Canada has announced the opening of the Resource Allocation Competition (RAC) 2019. The RAC is open to researchers who require substantial amounts of High Performance Computing (HPC) and/or Cloud Computing resources.  UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is available to consult in this regard.

UBC ARC can assist you with:

  • Navigating the RAC process.
  • Estimating your resource requirements (storage and compute).
  • Determining the appropriate resources for your research projects.

If you already have an allocation from the previous year, the Principal Investigator will receive an invitation to participate in the fast track process described here.

Everyone else will be required to apply for resources via the Resources for Research Groups (RRG) competition and/or Research Platforms and Portals (RPP) competition. More information on these competitions are available below:

Applications for the fast track process are due by October 25, 2018 and applications for the RRG and RPP competitions are due by November 8, 2018. Submissions will be accepted starting September 27, 2018.

Compute Canada will be hosting 2 online Q & A sessions pertaining to RAC 2019.
