UBC RDM Strategy Project - Strategy Draft Request for Feedback

Have your say on UBC's new draft Research Data Management Strategy. An initial draft has been created with feedback collected from the UBC community in late 2021 and early 2022 and by following the Research Infrastructure Self-Evaluation (RISE) model. We will host town hall and focused sessions to hear your feedback on the draft and also have a web form available to gather feedback from those unable to attend the sessions.

At the town halls, the draft will be introduced and key recommendations highlighted. Both town halls provide the option for either in-person or virtual attendance. Following the town halls, we will again hold virtual focus group sessions themed around specific communities and interest areas. Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.

ARC Workshop – Introduction to Databases

Research projects are increasingly leveraging databases in deciphering large datasets and implementing in-database analysis to enhance the scale of processing. To better understand how a database can be useful in support of scientific research projects, we are hosting Introduction to Databases online workshop. In this workshop, we will provide an overview of databases and then use a case study example to demonstrate how to build a relational database from scratch, interact with your database, and perform in-database analytics.
